who & why

I want to photograph several different people from different walks of life, and focus on the characteristic that is either most noticeable or the one that that person is the most insecure about. I want to show that these things that they are so aware of about themselves and that they consider to be defects are still a beautiful part of who they are. They are the characteristics that people usually try to hide, and many photographers would want to avoid some of them altogether, but I want to take an honest and blunt approach. I want to use lighting to focus on a specific area, and the images will be in black and white.
